Introduction

This is the Freaks Unidos' page for the ICFP Programming Contest.

Philosophy

Our goal is not to do our best and get the greatest possible scores, but to have the most possible fun during the contest (from which, it follows, we will probably get good scores). :-)

That's why we are team “FUN”.

As a bonus, it matches “FUNctional programming”, which we tend to use a lot!

As an extra bonus, it matches our domain name, Freaks-Unidos.Net, how neat is that!

Contests

2009
We scored 831.1040 points. Partial standing 170 of 317. We didn't score more points thus we think we will descend on the final scoreboard. We really enjoyed this task and we wrote some nice programs, specially the Python VM and the compiler that turns a solution into a native python module that runs very fast.
2008
We had a lot of fun but we did not do very. Our ligtning submission was better than the final one.
2007
We finished at position 31. We are very happy with this result. We thought this particular task was rather hard, but we managed to come up with a relatively good strategy that worked well enough.
2006
Return of the Jedi. Finally, we all got organized and participated and we were the 53 best group. We are satisfied with that result.
2005
The lost year - Galactus rocks. This time only Galactus participated, and, again, we did poorly.
2004
Genesis. Our first time in the contest, we did very poorly.
